On June 13th, 2013, Google announced that they would be discontinuing support for their ChromeFrame plugin for Internet Explorer. For those of you who are not aware of it, ChromeFrame enabled older versions of IE to support the newer HTML5 protocols by running Google Chrome from within.
Our web framework relies on ChromeFrame for continued support of Internet Explorer 6 and 7, but because browser vulnerabilities can be so dangerous to users, we will not be advocating use of a product that is being discontinued. We will therefore be removing ChromeFrame support altogether later this year and browsers which took advantage of ChromeFrame will trigger the Session.AllowUnsupportedBrowser event so you can decide on an appropriate action. Please encourage your users to upgrade to a browser which gets regular updates like Chrome or Firefox and keep it up to date. If they would like to stay with Internet Explorer, newer is better when it comes to HTML5.
