The LA Times is reporting that the Los Angeles Unified School District has awarded Apple a $30 million dollar contract to provide 35,000 iPads to students in the district. The iPad was chosen after students and teachers tried several tablets and gave the iPad the highest score.
John Gruber of Daring Fireball commented on the article stating that, “Times have really changed.” He’s referring to a sentence in the article stating, “A Microsoft representative urged the board to try more than one product and not to rely on one platform.”
Perhaps Microsoft is starting to understand the value of cross-platform? 🙂
